Abbi and Simon’s plans for a locally sourced village wedding in Lincolnshire had me very excited from their initial meeting. I love it when a couple personalise their wedding by making all the details themselves. This made for some lovely Lincolnshire wedding photography.
From Abbi’s dress right through to the plant pots for the seating plan, everything was locally sourced, if not made by Abbi herself.
The ceremony took place at St Margaret’s Church in Habrough on what was forecast to be a cool spring day with the possibility of rain. Apart from a very windy confetti throwing whilst leaving the church the chilly morning turned into such stunning day with the sun shining for most of the afternoon. The reception was held in a Marquee on gorgeous grounds in Tealby. The guests played lawn games and were served canapés before being seated for their meal. Each table had one of the guests assigned to serve the food which was a lovely touch and made for some funny photographs of them in their aprons.
After the speeches a pianist played throughout cocktail hour, and the guests enjoyed some more lawn games whilst the sun was setting. My personal favourite was the giant Jenga, in which I witnessed a very lengthy game waiting for the shot of it all to come crashing to the ground. The kids were far too good at it! I had such a lovely time photographing Abbi and Simon’s special day and loved how they made it unique to them and kept everything local.
