Here is my utterly adorable nephew modelling for me as I practise with a new member to my kit; a Nikon D600. Small in comparison to the other full frames on the market but bloomin’ heck does it pack a punch! I’m in love!

My little giant of a nephew takes my breath away whenever I see him. Little under a year old, crawling, cruising in his first shoes, and the happiest of fellas (he’s the jolliest soul I know on the amount of sleep he has). Harley and his daddy (my ‘big’ brother) came round on Easter Sunday and seen as though my little lady of 3 year old won’t sit for me anymore I asked Harls if he wouldn’t mind modelling for me. Of course he can’t talk yet, but I’m pretty sure he was game :) I have photographs to prove it…

Welcome to the world ‘Mr Mouse’

Now you’d be fooled into thinking this is Caleb’s first photoshoot right? Well, I’ve actually had the honour of photographing Caleb 3 times (technically 4 if you count the Maternity shoot) and he is only 3 weeks old as I type!

Caleb’s mummy is one of my bestest friends (and a fellow photographer) hence why the wee one has been harassed so much by my lens. I’ve made a promise to Caleb to take a back seat with my camera for a while and conduct in more snuggling…not for long though :)

Also joining us for some cheeky grins was Caleb’s big sister Lola, who at 2 years old, is only a wee one herself. She has taken to the role of being a big sister really well and loves kissing and cuddling her baby brother.

Be prepared to see a lot more of these two little tinkers!

“Two Little m&m’s”

Such a fitting title for one of the most adorably sweet brother and sister shoots I have ever done. I’d love to take credit for the title, but it’s Max and Matilda’s Mummy who calls them her “m&ms”.

I had photographed Max before when he was 11 weeks old and Matilda when she was just 2 weeks old so I knew to expect mounds of gorgeousness! Max was happy to be photographed at intervals whilst watching ‘Mr Maker’, with Matilda happy to be photographed whilst receiving tickles from Mummy.

I had so much fun routing through Matildas vastly growing tutu collection (and photographing her in nearly every one of them), tickling Max’s toes and generally having a ball. I can’t wait until our next session when Matilda will most definitely be on the move (cue lots of out of focus shots) xxx

Here is the adorable Ava Rose who I had the absolute pleasure of photographing on Saturday at 9 days new.

One thing I noticed as soon as I tumbled into Adam and Jenny’s house with my abundance of kit (I’m like a one man band with all the throws, props, cameras and beanbag) was how chilled out they were. I already knew they were a barrel of laughs as I photographed their wedding last year, but to say they were new parents, giving up one of their newborn baby’s rare naps whilst I take over their kitchen, they were a dream. Just like little Ava.

Jenny even let me get my baby fix and rock Ava to sleep. I’m not the baby whisperer either. It doesn’t always work. However, with Ava’s full tummy, the heating on full blast, lullabies on repeat and my rocking we struck gold. Ava slept through 3 prop changes until she decided that being a model was no fun and that milk was where the party was at! :)

I’m still learning what works and what doesn’t with newborn photography and love how different and challenging each shoot is. I use natural light, my trusty Nikon D300 and mostly my fixed 50mm lens.

Meet Jamie, Oliver and Jessy! Such a lively bunch! I struggled to keep up with them! Climbing trees, running through mud, flooded wellies and a Werthers Original bribe :)

Jessy, I’ve never seen a two year old make such a splash, which makes me think you do this quite often! Oliver, you were a natural infront of the camera, and crept up on me like a ninja! I’m pretty sure thats’s been perfected from playing many tricks on your brother! Jamie, maybe you’ll be a tree surgeon when you grow up! There’s no tree you can’t climb :)

Had such a laugh with this lot! I just hope all that mud came out in the wash…

My most recent creation 

Thought I’d blog my latest album order from Graphistudio. The incredibly romantic Wedding of Faye and Neil in Sorrento, Italy.

The Primary Album is 25x35cm with a leather backing and metallic cover. The Parent copy of the album is a 30x20cm hardback with a soft cover. The parent albums are an exact copy of the Primary Album and have to be ordered at the same time.

This is my one and only “Pickle”.

You’ll be seeing quite alot of this little crack-pot! I’m always venturing out with Pickle and my camera in tow, often at sunrise or sunset (she loves the latter because it usually means staying up longer). And quite often on our adventures we are joined by my photographer mate Hayley (Mousey/Kidd) and her little crack-pot Lola (Miss Mouse/ Mango) and Hayley’s newest recruit who is  safely tucked away in her belly. No doubt he or she will be joining us on our escapades in 2013! Watch this space …
